soukan miyamoto/japanese name is 宮本想観

soukan in the youthful era

Born in Osaka Prefecture in 1950, he taught himself Buddhist sculpture in 1973.

In 1975, studied Buddhist sculpture in Kyoto and aspired to be a Buddhist sculptor.

In March 1986, the Buddha statue “saikouenkoubou” opened.

While running a Buddhist sculpture class, he continues to produce his work.

Since then, many Buddhist statues have been placed in temples nationwide.

Supported by many disciples, we hold an exhibition of works with them every year.

I put my thoughts and prayers into the chisel and wood, and continue to carve for a better world and people.
